Graduate Exhibition Opening March 21.jpg

Senior Exhibition,   3/2019

For me, this all began with coloring books and pads of drawing paper piled up on my bed.  Both my coloring and drawing skills were average but these pursuits comforted me as I convalesced from illnesses throughout my childhood.

As an adult, I have continued to have a therapeutic relationship with art through a variety of mediums.  The click of the shutter, the squish of my brush and the hum of the spinning potter's wheel all give me a sense of peace and joy and a connection to being alive active and well.

I bring these feelings with me into the classroom when I teach art to others.  I hope that each of my students finds joy in just making and being with their work.

Art, both creating and teaching, expresses my love for this precious journey and human experience we all share together.
